Installation Guide

1. Prepare the surface

Remove dust, dirt, grease, oil, moisture, loose coating and other contaminants.

2. Ensure the surface is dry

Do not apply the tape to a wet surface. The official technical data lists 4°C (40°F) as the maximum application-temperature threshold for this product family, so installation conditions should be checked before application.

3. Measure and cut

Cut the Safety-Walk 610 to the required length or shape. For stairs, position the strip consistently across the walking edge.

4. Position carefully

Place the tape on the prepared surface. Avoid unnecessary repositioning after initial contact.

5. Apply firm pressure

Use a suitable roller to firmly press the material onto the substrate. 3M recommends its Safety-Walk Rubber Hand Roller for helping achieve a firm bond.

6. Check the edges

Make sure all edges are firmly bonded and free from lifting.

7. Protect exposed edges when necessary

For applications exposed to excessive moisture or liquids, 3M offers Safety-Walk Edging Compound to help protect exposed edges.

8. Allow sufficient bonding time
