Why Choose
3M™ Safety-Walk™ 710 is one of the more aggressive anti-slip solutions in the Safety-Walk™ range. Compared with General Purpose 600 Series products such as 610 and 630, the 710 belongs to the Coarse 700 Series and uses extra-large abrasive mineral particles for extreme and heavy-traffic environments.
Its open abrasive pattern is particularly useful in dirty, wet and oily environments, where smaller or more closed abrasive surfaces may become clogged. 3M specifically lists construction vehicles, ship and aircraft decks, trains, semi-trailers, machine shops and agricultural/forestry equipment among its applications.
Installation Guide
- Prepare the surface – Remove oil, grease, dirt, dust, wax, loose paint and other contaminants.
- Clean and dry – The bonding surface must be clean and dry before application.
- Measure and cut – Cut the tape to the required dimensions and shape.
- Round the corners – Rounded corners can help minimize edge lifting.
- Position the tape – Align the material carefully before applying final pressure.
- Apply pressure – Use a suitable hand roller to apply firm, uniform pressure across the entire surface.
- Inspect the edges – Check that all edges are firmly bonded.
- Allow adequate bonding time – Avoid unnecessary traffic immediately after installation.
Current 3M configurations use Controltac™ Film Technology to facilitate repositioning before final adhesion and Comply™ Adhesive Technology to provide air-release channels for a smoother, bubble-reduced application.
Storage
- Store in the original packaging.
- Keep in a clean and dry area.
- Protect from direct sunlight.
- Recommended storage conditions in the current 3M Safety-Walk product bulletin are 4°C to 38°C with 40%–60% relative humidity.
- The stated maximum shelf life is 5 years from the date of manufacture on the original box, subject to the conditions and limitations specified by 3M.
