Benefits
Permanent Structural Bonding
Replaces rivets, screws, welds, and liquid adhesives while creating a clean, invisible bond line.
Designed for Powder-Coated Surfaces
The modified acrylic adhesive delivers outstanding adhesion to powder-coated paints and painted metals where conventional tapes may struggle.
Excellent Conformability
The viscoelastic acrylic foam adapts to uneven surfaces and compensates for thermal expansion differences between bonded materials.
Optimized for Converting
The PCK liner provides excellent dimensional stability during die-cutting, laminating, and automated production.
Outstanding Environmental Durability
Resists UV, humidity, chemicals, solvents, and long-term outdoor weathering.
Waterproof & Vibration Resistant
Closed-cell acrylic foam seals against moisture while absorbing vibration and impact stress.

Installation Guide
- Clean bonding surfaces with isopropyl alcohol (IPA).
- Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust or grease.
- Apply the tape with firm, even pressure.
- Avoid repositioning once contact is made.
- Approximately 50% bond strength develops after 20 minutes, 90% after 24 hours, and 100% after 72 hours at room temperature.
- Conduct application testing before mass production.
Storage
Store the tape in its original packaging.
Recommended storage conditions:
- Temperature: 16°C–27°C (60°F–80°F)
- Relative Humidity: 40%–60%
- Keep away from direct sunlight.
- Store in a cool, dry environment.
- Store rolls horizontally whenever possible.
- Use FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory management.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is 3M™ VHB™ 5925P used for?
It is designed for permanent structural bonding in transportation, electronics, appliances, construction, signage, and industrial manufacturing.
How thick is 5925P?
The tape has a nominal thickness of 0.64 mm (25 mil).
What is the difference between 5925 and 5925P?
Both tapes use the same 0.64 mm modified acrylic foam and provide identical bonding performance. The primary difference is the liner:
- 5925: Red PE film liner
- 5925P: Polycoated Kraft Paper (PCK) liner, better suited for die-cutting, kiss-cutting, and automated converting.
Can 5925P replace rivets and screws?
Yes. It is engineered to replace many mechanical fasteners while reducing weight, improving appearance, and simplifying assembly.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. It offers excellent resistance to UV radiation, moisture, solvents, and long-term weather exposure.
What materials can it bond?
It bonds aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, glass, powder-coated metals, acrylic, ABS, polycarbonate, PVC, and sealed wood.
Can it be die-cut?
Yes. The PCK liner provides excellent dimensional stability for precision die-cutting, laminating, and automated converting. Guangdong Yousan also offers custom die-cutting and OEM processing.
Does it require curing time?
No. The tape provides immediate handling strength after application pressure, while full bond strength is achieved after approximately 72 hours.
