Benefits
Ultra-Thin Bond Line
With a thickness of only 0.20 mm, 5907 is ideal for electronic assemblies and precision components where space is limited.
Permanent Structural Bonding
Replaces screws, rivets, spot welds, and liquid adhesives while creating a clean, invisible bond line.
Excellent Conformability
The viscoelastic acrylic foam conforms to slightly uneven surfaces, maximizing adhesive contact and improving long-term reliability.
Broad Material Compatibility
Bonds aluminum, stainless steel, glass, ABS, acrylic, polycarbonate, composites, painted metals, and many engineering plastics.
Long-Term Environmental Resistance
Provides excellent resistance to UV exposure, humidity, moisture, chemicals, and outdoor weathering.
Waterproof Sealing
The closed-cell acrylic foam helps prevent water, dust, and contaminant intrusion.

Installation Guide
- Clean the bonding surfaces with isopropyl alcohol (IPA).
- Ensure all surfaces are dry and free from dust, grease, or oil.
- Apply firm, even pressure across the tape.
- Avoid repositioning after initial contact.
- Approximately 50% bond strength develops after 20 minutes, 90% after 24 hours, and 100% after 72 hours at room temperature.
- Verify performance through application testing before mass production.
Storage
Store the tape in its original packaging.
Recommended storage conditions:
- Temperature: 16°C–27°C (60°F–80°F)
- Relative Humidity: 40%–60%
- Store in a cool, dry place.
- Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Store rolls horizontally whenever possible.
- Use FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory management.
Shelf life is 24 months when stored under recommended conditions.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is 3M™ VHB™ 5907 used for?
It is primarily used for ultra-thin structural bonding in electronic devices, LCD displays, laptop bezels, touch panels, automotive electronics, signage, and industrial assemblies.
How thick is 3M™ VHB™ 5907?
The tape has a nominal thickness of 0.20 mm (8 mil).
What materials can it bond?
It bonds aluminum, stainless steel, glass, acrylic, polycarbonate, ABS, painted metals, composites, and many engineering plastics.
Can 5907 replace screws and rivets?
Yes. It is engineered to replace many mechanical fasteners while reducing weight, improving appearance, and simplifying manufacturing.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. It offers excellent resistance to UV radiation, moisture, weathering, and temperature cycling.
What is the difference between 5906 and 5907?
Both belong to the 5952 Family and use the same modified acrylic adhesive and PET liner.
- 5906: 0.15 mm (6 mil)
- 5907: 0.20 mm (8 mil)
5907 provides slightly greater gap-filling capability and higher overall bond strength while maintaining an ultra-thin profile.
Can 5907 be die-cut?
Yes. The PET liner provides excellent dimensional stability for precision die-cutting, kiss-cutting, and automated converting. Guangdong Yousan also offers custom die-cutting and OEM processing.
