Benefits
Strong Structural Bonding
Replaces mechanical fasteners and liquid adhesives while providing a clean, smooth appearance.
Excellent Conformability
The acrylic foam adapts to uneven surfaces and helps compensate for thermal expansion between dissimilar materials.
Bonds Multiple Substrates
Provides excellent adhesion to aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, glass, acrylic, polycarbonate, ABS, and painted metals.
Outstanding Outdoor Durability
Maintains bond strength under UV exposure, moisture, humidity, and temperature cycling.
Waterproof Sealing
The closed-cell acrylic foam helps seal against water, dust, and environmental contaminants.
Designed for Plasticized PVC
Its adhesive formulation resists plasticizer migration, making it suitable for bonding flexible vinyl and plasticized PVC materials.

Installation Guide
- Clean all bonding surfaces with isopropyl alcohol (IPA).
- Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from grease or dust.
- Apply the tape with firm, uniform pressure.
- Avoid repositioning after initial contact.
- Approximately 50% bond strength develops after 20 minutes, 90% after 24 hours, and 100% after 72 hours at room temperature.
- Validate adhesion through application testing before mass production.
Storage
Store the tape in its original packaging.
Recommended storage conditions:
- Temperature: 16°C–27°C (60°F–80°F)
- Relative Humidity: 40%–60%
- Keep away from direct sunlight.
- Store in a cool, dry environment.
- Store rolls horizontally whenever possible.
- Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory management.
- Shelf life: 24 months under recommended storage conditions.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is 3M™ VHB™ 4926 used for?
It is widely used for panel-to-frame bonding, stiffener attachment, decorative trim, electronic displays, signage, appliance manufacturing, and transportation applications.
How thick is 3M™ VHB™ 4926?
The nominal thickness is 0.40 mm (15 mil).
What materials can 4926 bond?
It bonds aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, glass, ABS, acrylic, polycarbonate, painted metals, sealed wood, and plasticized PVC.
Can 4926 replace rivets and screws?
Yes. It is designed to replace many mechanical fasteners while providing a cleaner appearance and reducing assembly time.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
