Benefits
Permanent Structural Bond
Provides a long-lasting bond that replaces screws, rivets, welds, and liquid adhesives while improving product appearance.
Excellent Conformability
The soft acrylic foam easily adapts to uneven or mismatched surfaces, maximizing contact area and bond strength.
Broad Material Compatibility
Bonds aluminum, stainless steel, glass, acrylic, ABS, polycarbonate, painted metals, powder-coated surfaces, and many engineering plastics.
Fast Assembly
Pressure-sensitive adhesive provides immediate handling strength without curing or drying.
Outstanding Durability
Excellent resistance to UV exposure, moisture, humidity, chemicals, and outdoor environments.
Vibration Damping
The viscoelastic acrylic foam absorbs vibration, reduces stress concentration, and improves product reliability.

- Approximately 50% bond strength develops after 20 minutes, 90% after 24 hours, and 100% after 72 hours at room temperature.
- Perform production testing before mass production.
Storage
Store the tape in its original packaging.
Recommended conditions:
- Temperature: 16°C–27°C (60°F–80°F)
- Relative Humidity: 40%–60%
- Keep away from direct sunlight.
- Store in a cool, dry location.
- Store rolls horizontally when possible.
- Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is 3M™ VHB™ 5915P used for?
It is designed for permanent structural bonding in automotive, transportation, appliances, electronics, construction, signage, and general industrial manufacturing.
How thick is 5915P?
The tape has a nominal thickness of 0.40 mm (16 mil).
What materials can it bond?
It bonds aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, glass, painted metals, powder-coated surfaces, acrylic, ABS, polycarbonate, and many engineering plastics.
What is the difference between 5915P and 5915?
Both tapes have the same 0.40 mm modified acrylic foam construction. The primary difference is the liner: 5915P uses a Polycoated Kraft Paper (PCK) liner, making it more suitable for automated converting and die-cutting applications.
Can 5915P replace rivets or screws?
Yes. It is engineered to replace many mechanical fasteners while reducing weight, improving appearance, and simplifying assembly.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. It offers excellent resistance to UV radiation, moisture, weathering, and temperature cycling.
Can it be die-cut?
Yes. The PCK liner provides excellent dimensional stability, making it ideal for precision die-cutting, kiss-cutting, and automated processing.
Do you provide OEM services?
Yes. Guangdong Yousan provides custom roll widths, precision die-cutting, laminating, rewinding, printed liners, and OEM packaging.
