Why Choose 3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tape 6035PL+?
The biggest advantage of 6035PL+ is its combination of low-fogging performance and 300MP+ acrylic adhesive.
For automotive interior applications, adhesive fogging can be an important consideration because volatile materials may deposit on interior surfaces. 6035PL+ was specifically formulated for low-fog characteristics and is tested against automotive OEM fogging specifications.
It also provides high initial tack, which makes it suitable for fast production-line assembly, while its 5 mil adhesive layer offers good conformability to foam, fabric and textured substrates.
For automotive suppliers and tape converters, 6035PL+ is particularly valuable for:
Automotive Interior → Gaskets → Foam → Seals → Trim → Large-area Lamination → Die-cut Components
3M also identifies Ford WSS-M99P48-B3 as an automotive OEM specification associated with the product.
Installation Guide
1. Surface Preparation
Clean the bonding surfaces to remove dust, oil, grease, moisture and other contaminants.
For automotive plastics, confirm that any mold-release agents or processing residues have been completely removed.
2. Cut the Tape
Cut 6035PL+ to the required size or convert it into a precision die-cut component.
3. Apply the First Side
Remove the release liner and apply the exposed adhesive to the first substrate.
4. Apply Pressure
Apply firm, uniform pressure across the bonding area. Pressure helps establish intimate contact between the adhesive and substrate.
5. Remove the Remaining Liner
Carefully remove the liner from the opposite side.
6. Position the Second Substrate
Align the mating component accurately before making full contact.
7. Apply Pressure
Apply uniform pressure over the entire bonded area.
8. Allow Bond Development
Allow sufficient time for the adhesive to develop its bond strength before exposing the assembly to demanding loads or environmental conditions.
Storage
Store 3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tape 6035PL+:
- In its original packaging
- In a clean and dry environment
- Away from direct sunlight
- Away from excessive heat and humidity
- Away from dust, oil and chemical contamination
- With the release liner protected until use
The current 3M product page lists a 10-month shelf life for 6035PL+.
