Benefits
Superior Gap Filling
The 2.5 mm foam core effectively compensates for manufacturing tolerances and uneven bonding surfaces, ensuring consistent contact and reliable adhesion.
Designed for Automotive Trim Attachment
Engineered specifically for permanent attachment of automotive exterior and interior trim components requiring thicker foam construction.
Excellent Stress Relaxation
The viscoelastic acrylic foam absorbs vibration, mechanical loads, and thermal movement between dissimilar materials, extending service life.
High Bond Strength
Provides excellent initial tack and develops outstanding long-term adhesion to painted metals, aluminum, glass, and engineering plastics.
Long-Term Environmental Durability
Maintains excellent performance under UV exposure, rain, humidity, road salt, automotive fluids, solvents, and temperature cycling.
Improved Manufacturing Efficiency
Eliminates screws, rivets, clips, and liquid adhesives while reducing assembly time and improving product appearance.

FAQ
What is 3M™ GT7125 used for?
GT7125 is designed for permanent bonding of automotive exterior and interior trim, including rocker panels, claddings, spoilers, wheel arch extensions, moldings, and decorative components.
How thick is GT7125?
The nominal thickness is 2.5 mm (0.098 inch).
Is GT7125 suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. It provides excellent resistance to UV exposure, weathering, moisture, solvents, and temperature cycling for long-term automotive applications.
Can GT7125 replace mechanical fasteners?
Yes. GT7125 is widely used to replace clips, screws, and rivets, helping reduce vehicle weight while improving assembly efficiency and appearance.
Can GT7125 be die-cut?
Yes. Guangdong Yousan offers custom slitting, laminating, rewinding, and precision die-cutting services.
What is the difference between GT7120, GT7125, and GT7130?
- GT7120: 2.0 mm
- GT7125: 2.5 mm
- GT7130: 3.0 mm
